Rasputin

Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the myths and mysteries surrounding Grigori Rasputin. My journey with this enigmatic figure began innocently enough—captivated by the magical world of Anastasia, where Rasputin played a pivotal role. Later, Just Dance 2 reignited that fascination, with the infectious beats of “Rasputin” quickly becoming my favorite routine. And then, as if fate had a sense of humor, TikTok brought that song back into my life, louder and more vibrant than ever. When it came time to craft the first-ever parade performance for the Utah Pride Guard, Rasputin’s song was a natural choice.

As we transformed from a Pride Parade guard into a full-fledged winter guard, I knew we had to make our debut one to remember. I searched high and low for inspiration—scouring YouTube, TikTok, and even Dance Moms—but in the end, it was my past, the history of our team, and one name that stood out above all: Rasputin.

This winter, we invite you to witness the story of a man shrouded in legend. We'll blend classical and contemporary music with movement styles as varied as the myths themselves. Alongside a dynamic team of performers, we’ll peel back the layers of Rasputin’s life. Just remember, you can’t always trust what you’ve heard… sometimes, the truth lies in the shadows.
